Dale Chihuly

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis has opened a brand new exhibit of the glass-master, Dale Chihuly. The 43 foot tower is named, "Fireworks of Glass", and features an area underneath with a glass ceiling (pictured), and interactive glass exhibits for the children to experience. It is absolutely amazing, from an adult's or child's perspective! Chihuly is one of my favorite artists (since I saw a PBS special on him in high school :)), and I was able to take my class to see his exhibit on Tuesday. To see his art through the eyes of 4 and 5 year olds made the whole trip worth while...

Elena Grace

Congrats to our good friends in Delaware, Brad and Jules! They had their baby on Wednesday, March 15, 11:41 am. She weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz. and is 19 inches long. Jules reports that the baby is healthy, happy, and loves to eat! We are going out to Delaware to see them on Friday, so I am sure there will be many more pics on the way!

St. Patrick's Day

Some of you might know that St. Patrick's Day is one of my favorite holidays! So, to celebrate, we decked out in our green finery! Any of you who do not know the story of St. Patrick- look it up (or in modern-day terms, "google it")... You won't be sorry. I just hope we all can live our lives to share Jesus as St. Patrick did.

Happy Birthday, Emma!

Emma Foreman, our friend from Bedford (Shannon (Holt) Foreman's daughter), turned 2 a couple weeks ago. We had to miss the party because of all of our craziness here, but we love her to pieces. A couple weeks ago, we met Shannon and her kids at Mr. Gatti's for a fun afternoon. Emma and Adia are good buddies, and poor Luke gets to tag along for the ride!

Prayers requested...

Hi all! We wanted to give you an update on the medical situations in our family. My tests went well, and we will find out results when I go back March 14. Adia had a specialist check-up at Riley hospital, and things are not going as well as we hoped. She has officially been labeled a "failure to thrive" toddler, and is underweight. Colb and I have been worried about this for a while, but to hear a doctor echo your concerns is a pretty scary thing. Anyway, she had numerous blood tests done (8 vials of blood worth), and we are supposed to give her anything that will up her calorie intake. The most major step at this point is that she can only drink Pediasure (which is horribly expensive, I might add!). The doctor recommended that we basically thirst her into drinking it, which is not medically recommended in most cases, so don't try it without the consent of a doctor... She hates anything milky, so this is going to be a very big, very exhausting fight for us, I'm afraid.

Colb's dad went to the hopital the other night with heart issues, and they transferred him to Methodist hospital yesterday to do a cardiac cath on him. He has 90% blockage in one artery, but seems to be doing ok. He has to rest for 7 days, which will be very difficult for him.

We are asking all your prayers for these things. We know that God is bigger than any problems we have, and he is not surprised about any of this news. Please pray for a peace for us as we face the upcoming days...

Sibling Unrivalry

SOOOO, I tried to post this the other night, and novice bloggers still have some trouble... if you want to see the pics- email me!

I have been organizing family photos the last few weeks and I have come across some pretty hilarious scenes. For those of you who do not know our family very well, we are HUGE cheeseballs. BUT, we always have known how much we are loved and had (and are still having) some pretty fun times. Like the time we went to Alaska (pic of em and me in the RV). Thanks, mom and dad, for always making times memorable. And the times we shared just being goofy (pic of matthew and em just hangin' out). Thanks, you guys, for always being good for a laugh (and letting me capture it on film for the whole world to see 20 years later!). I love you all soooo much!

Endocrinologist

What is this? Basically, it's a specialist that helps women with issues such as endometriosis and infertility. Since I have been having such chronic pain for many years now, and it has been so much worse lately (since Nov.), I decided to go to Dr. Cline. He has been specializing in endocrinology since before I was born, and Colby and I have hope that he is going to figure out why I am having all this pain. Just so all of you know, we ARE NOT going to try any fertility routes, and we were very clear with the doctor about that. We feel called to adopt special needs children and are at peace with that decision. I would really like to feel better, however. If you would like to check out Dr. Cline's website, it is:
www.reproductivehope.com

I go to get more testing done this Saturday, March 4 at 9:00am. Please pray that we can find some answers and know where to go from here...
